Beautiful walk through several distinct ecosystems - our favorite is the boardwalk portion at the north end of the reserve. Funlots of wildlife, birds ,turtles, gators! Very pretty place. wildflowers.
This took me to a private area that you had to pay ONLY CASH to get in. See below for the fee schedule: boardwalks. We also saw sea turtles, squirrels and cardinals. I agree with others that, while i thought the trail intersections were pretty well marked, the maps didnt have as much information as wouldve been helpful. The maps in the kiosks throughout the park are great, but dont have the large numbers that correspond to the trail markers. Note also that you have to pay (per car) to get on the property. Also be sure to visit the 4,000-year-old Indian Shell Ring, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and enjoy a scenic ride down the rice dike. The Warner W. Plahs Wildflower Field is a must-see in spring.
