But thats not the case, you do have to, as a leader, as a queen, as a warrior, you do have to make like, certain discerning decisions to like, audit yourself, audit your narrative, audit your circle and like, tough love and confrontation really is how you grow and like, thats ultimately how I built a relationship with myself was through confrontation. Its you. So, everyone be looking for more conversations, more interviews, more talks like this, because honestly, I think even through what were going through, now, well always be somehow fighting this COVID thing that communication and camaraderie thats important to fight COVID. Who was the 2019 queen? So, this is what reminded me of that when you said that, but yeah, thats very cool. We are constantly updating and redesigning the theme for our website, too. Like, my foundation is in Nebraska, but thats why its important for me, Mrs. North Carolina. And you show up and you smile, and you work really hard. And well make sure that theyre included in the article as well. So, at the racetrack people yell to AJ like, if its not Mr. North Carolina, which is great, its Cat Dad, Mr. Tickles dad. And knowing that you have everything in you to heal yourself, and its just about involving yourself in the process and continually asking questions and being almost like a warrior for yourself. Yes, everybody wants to win the crown, but I call pageants like, this is like a womens retreat. WHY WERE YOU INTERESTED IN REPRESENTING NC/SC AS A MRS. AMERICA CONTESTANT?Representing North Carolina as a married woman is a personal goal because it will allow me to share my self-healing journey with a larger audience. And then everything will link from there. Huntersville, NC 28078, 704-766-2100 So, it was right after the first one. So, we got married at Murrays Mill and then we moved everything to On The Nines, and it is the best wedding venue. You know, and Im like, well, if I have to eat brussel sprouts and chicken and rice all the time, like Im going to do it and win. Yeah, I mean, Im excited for this feature. If I were asked to create a superhero character, she would be the Race City Riverkeeper. Like, I wasnt disappointed, I was like, Im just gonna keep going. Theyre like, well, how did you do it? Like that narrative shift from the victim to the victor and fighting from victory. Thats a very healthy thing for a woman and I encourage women to play dress up, pretend youre Barbie, if youve worked on yourself, or you want to feel that way, like, do that. Like that blows my mind. Sodoma Law, our family taking care of your family. And then the parade had come up and I was like, oh, its the Christmas parade. And that is something to, like I was naive to before.

So, Im like, okay, well, everything that I had worked for 27 years to get to I had, you know, so I was like, now thats, that was part of the reason too, Im like, now its time. She and AJ both have a history of 'bouncing back' as racing fans who know AJ's story are aware. Like nationals, we just came back and Im just loving it. Tara And then I was like, oh, wait, theres Mrs. pageantry. Jeff Great. We understand the need of every single client. You live in Denver, I noticed on Instagram that you participated in a car show or a parade. And youre like, I think I should get a microphone and maybe put myself on YouTube, you know? And Im so much more productive when I do that.
And so, there was some combatibilities with this one and I wanted some more stage time. Enjoy getting to know Mrs. North Carolina America 2021, Tara Allmendinger. Honestly, I would like, unbiased, I would really highly suggest it, just because it does have this like very southern charming ambience to it. So, its a very small world. Okay, thats a lot actually and youre a warrior and thats not nothing. Things really turned a corner for me when I stopped listening to everyone elses food advice, made a career shift, found an allergist, purchased a high-powered water filtration system, and became mindful of the gut-brain connection. Tara also shares her passion for clean, healthy eating and physical fitness. Im proud that they are proud that Im their queen. I can outwork everybody. That was my state costume, and I waved the checkered flag, you know, and I had on my power words on my, sewn onto this fire suit, kind of that I would have, like my husband would, but it was my spirit of victory.
You know, in our mid-20s going, oh. Its always nice when we can record these conversations in person, the audio quality is always better, and there always seems to be more energy during the interview. But it also feels like, I can do more. Either way, you can fulfil your aspiration and enjoy multiple cups of simmering hot coffee. Congratulations. I believe they are, but Ill double check. And so, I always kind of fought this, like, emotional imbalance. But its only been until recently that weve been talking about the brain and the gut connection. Tara So, Chris actually, got ordained and he is who married AJ and I. I have to be ready. This cat will get more photo likes that I will. But yeah, I mean, we can try to do so much and then we end up not doing anything, right? And thats a niche, but Ill speak from that niche, because its a bigger one. And AJ had called out to us and said, hey, you guys should come hang out with us. One thing Ive learned over the years is our bodies are built in the kitchen and the gym, you know, so like and its probably 75% kitchen, isnt it? And then on the Denver side, I work out at Iron Physique gym. And theres a lot of really great places over there. I cant give you a big enough shout out because you just always took me in. Jeff Very cool. Im a leader. Of course, Davidson is well-known as a basketball town. And then, you know, it kind of went on and he had told me what he did. Thats why Im doing my math homework now. Thank you again, and to all the warriors out there. Last year, Tara was the first runner-up for 2020 Mrs. North Carolina. We have been together ever since that random occurrence in middle of May, and its been over eight and a half years. And all this makeup that Im buying and now I feel great. And thats what I find interesting is okay, so what else? I serve as an Ambassador for the Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation (CRF), a local, community-based group that dedicates time, talent, and resources to ensure the protection of the Catawba-Wateree River. In our conversation, Tara shares her background and how she landed here in the Lake Norman area all the way from Omaha, Nebraska. Hold on. And then I take on too much, and Im trying to work too hard, and then I will burn myself out. Tara You too, huh? Tara So, my very first one was April of 2021. He goes, I just outworked everybody, like I was determined to, nobody was gonna outwork me and it was just sheer determination that got him on the team, and I think hes started a few games, but. So, this is really cool. Joining me for this episode is the reigning Mrs. North Carolina America, Tara Allmendinger. But for me, I was like, well, okay, I have that, I have that rhythm because one, my food is like that, and two, my mental health is connected to this, and three, I want to keep growing so I could be viable in a fitness competition.

And even the contestants were like, well, what are you doing with your health? Tara was kind enough to answer some questions. [The Mrs. South Carolina pageant along with Miss North Carolina for America and Miss South Carolina for America pageants were held at the same place that evening.]. My goal is to successfully launch a line of womens performance shoes designed for comfort, style, and performance that offer inclusivity to skin color. And we know right now that this is what, the fifth hottest spot to move to, I think in the country, and its growing so fast. And I think thats why I chose it. And they come into a place where theyre able to tell their story and theyre rehabbed and when they come into this place, theyre given a stuffed animal and I kind of was like, aha, so that is kind of my next thing is, I think there are some ways for us to bridge this lovable cat and this cat dad who races and, you know, this beauty queen whos about health and fitness, and then they have this cat whos really the rock star and everyone loves that these things can really be more and do more in our community. "It is my joy to champion wellness through my Wellness Warrior platform as well as promote Victories for our personal well-being, for the Catawba River, and our environment, as well as to combat opioid addiction and overdose death with the Victoria's Voice Foundation.". So, its really a well-kept secret in Denver and I probably shouldnt have said anything but if you really are serious about your fitness and you kind of are like that old school, like you like the grit and like, youre pretty serious about it, like this is the place. I mean, it really is true. Now, for anyone who isn't a racing fan, her husband is AJ Allmendinger (Nascar Xfinity Driver, Kaulig Racing, #16). So, it was, its a really great place. It takes a while, like I was, what I thought about on my drive here, I was like, it really takes about seven years to kind of get like your first sort of production of seeds. Tara Wow, yeah, that would be me, I would say that that is who I am, and my husband, hes got a saying that I kind of like, he says, obsession is passion, you know, Im like, obsession can be destruction also, and there are, with every action force there is an equal and opposite reaction force, you know. And a lot of times, like I would say, most of my life, I was in a lot of pain, stomach pain, always had bloating and brain fog, and just a lot of issues that you kind of, almost sideline your life and you feel like you are an imposter. This is my mental health.

So, I am in Denver, North Carolina, and I love Denver because its got that small-town feel, its very relative. Tara So, he got ordained to marry us at Murrays Mill outdoors when we got married.
And they just said, okay, Ill make it work. My father-in-law, we both love cars, my dad loves cars and so he has a really cool 1940 Ford with a Chevy engine. After winning the title this year, Tara says she is excited for the "Race to the Crown" in preparation for competing at the Mrs. America Pageant held at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino, Las Vegas, NV November 12-21, 2021. Thats not actually what its about, you know, thats fun, but. Theyre just, thats how it is. Allmendinger will represent North Carolina at the Mrs. America pageant in Las Vegas on Nov. 20. And so, its like, I will always have that warrior motivation. And it was like, yeah, I think I think I should do this. What I am accomplishing through fundraising, education, advocacy, and engaging my local community is a way for me to apply my career experience and spiritual gifts to serve the greater interests of the River Basin.
Its all of us. Its not necessarily attractive to start jumping around to different systems. This is cool.
So, that kind of took a little bit for me to get used to but I mean, North Carolina across the board has been doing great in football, so. And Im just going to wear purple and Im gonna walk a parade like, to me, thats wonderful. And well get into, Im curious to know what, you know, this past year has been like for you especially. Those are the details I relish there. So, Mr. Tickles, hes very well known on social media.
And so, the 2019 Queen had reached out to me on Instagram because I started following her and she goes, hey, I think youd make a really great one. Jeff Thats really excellent. And so, like thats what I tell everybody, Im like your transformation starts in your mind, like actually physically build that house, that castle, that dream, whatever, build it in your brain. To show up, to do that YouTube, you know, is that aspect of it because especially when its your mother and she was your warrior and she helped you with all your food allergies and issues and she was really the only one when doctors were telling you, well, I think you need to see a psychologist, and youre like, no, I think my stomach hurts. Oh, you have celiac disease never mind, sorry. So, Id always wanted to do both of these things. And I mean, theres not as many people here, but when you go to a small town, and youre really successful, in cross country, people in the state knew who I was, you know, and I can come back and oh, you were, you know, so I had a network there, and people, professors, and then you know, you have all these different firms that might want to hire you, and then it was gone. I know this county is filled with incredible women doing marvelous things for themselves, their families, and the community every day. Jeff Theres so much going on behind the scenes, right, that people dont, they dont realize. Competing on stage was representative of me overcoming major gut issues and allergies. But Im just, I feel like Im just getting to the good part. I had a conversation with him.

And thats kind of where I can compete with this Masters of Architecture, and this fitness and all of these things that I know, Im like, where can you bring that to compete, and to really kind of be like, here I am. I mean, I would just pray that I was half the athlete that she was. And I think that thats where a lot of us get stuck. So, yep, weve got that, and for sure, you know, whenever I hear Omaha, I always think of like the football hike, like Omaha, Omaha. Tara Well, thank you so much for having me. And it takes a lot of guts to compete in a pageant. I love that. The first home football game she called home and she was walking to the Student Union. So, this Grumpy Cat is a very famous well-known cat, the sad looking, grumpy, disgruntled cat. And a lot of women have something, and people too, suffered in silence.
And she told me that 2021 was just a fast and furious year, like when it opened up it just, you know, because you had all those weddings that were postponed and cancelled from 2020 plus all the 2021 ones that were already planned. So, Im like, okay, well, everything that I had worked for 27 years to get to I had, you know, so I was like, now thats, that was part of the reason too, Im like, now its time. She and AJ both have a history of 'bouncing back' as racing fans who know AJ's story are aware. Like nationals, we just came back and Im just loving it. Tara And then I was like, oh, wait, theres Mrs. pageantry. Jeff Great. We understand the need of every single client. You live in Denver, I noticed on Instagram that you participated in a car show or a parade. And youre like, I think I should get a microphone and maybe put myself on YouTube, you know? And Im so much more productive when I do that.
And so, there was some combatibilities with this one and I wanted some more stage time. Enjoy getting to know Mrs. North Carolina America 2021, Tara Allmendinger. Honestly, I would like, unbiased, I would really highly suggest it, just because it does have this like very southern charming ambience to it. So, its a very small world. Okay, thats a lot actually and youre a warrior and thats not nothing. Things really turned a corner for me when I stopped listening to everyone elses food advice, made a career shift, found an allergist, purchased a high-powered water filtration system, and became mindful of the gut-brain connection. Tara also shares her passion for clean, healthy eating and physical fitness. Im proud that they are proud that Im their queen. I can outwork everybody. That was my state costume, and I waved the checkered flag, you know, and I had on my power words on my, sewn onto this fire suit, kind of that I would have, like my husband would, but it was my spirit of victory.
You know, in our mid-20s going, oh. Its always nice when we can record these conversations in person, the audio quality is always better, and there always seems to be more energy during the interview. But it also feels like, I can do more. Either way, you can fulfil your aspiration and enjoy multiple cups of simmering hot coffee. Congratulations. I believe they are, but Ill double check. And so, I always kind of fought this, like, emotional imbalance. But its only been until recently that weve been talking about the brain and the gut connection. Tara So, Chris actually, got ordained and he is who married AJ and I. I have to be ready. This cat will get more photo likes that I will. But yeah, I mean, we can try to do so much and then we end up not doing anything, right? And thats a niche, but Ill speak from that niche, because its a bigger one. And AJ had called out to us and said, hey, you guys should come hang out with us. One thing Ive learned over the years is our bodies are built in the kitchen and the gym, you know, so like and its probably 75% kitchen, isnt it? And then on the Denver side, I work out at Iron Physique gym. And theres a lot of really great places over there. I cant give you a big enough shout out because you just always took me in. Jeff Very cool. Im a leader. Of course, Davidson is well-known as a basketball town. And then, you know, it kind of went on and he had told me what he did. Thats why Im doing my math homework now. Thank you again, and to all the warriors out there. Last year, Tara was the first runner-up for 2020 Mrs. North Carolina. We have been together ever since that random occurrence in middle of May, and its been over eight and a half years. And all this makeup that Im buying and now I feel great. And thats what I find interesting is okay, so what else? I serve as an Ambassador for the Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation (CRF), a local, community-based group that dedicates time, talent, and resources to ensure the protection of the Catawba-Wateree River. In our conversation, Tara shares her background and how she landed here in the Lake Norman area all the way from Omaha, Nebraska. Hold on. And then I take on too much, and Im trying to work too hard, and then I will burn myself out. Tara You too, huh? Tara So, my very first one was April of 2021. He goes, I just outworked everybody, like I was determined to, nobody was gonna outwork me and it was just sheer determination that got him on the team, and I think hes started a few games, but. So, this is really cool. Joining me for this episode is the reigning Mrs. North Carolina America, Tara Allmendinger. But for me, I was like, well, okay, I have that, I have that rhythm because one, my food is like that, and two, my mental health is connected to this, and three, I want to keep growing so I could be viable in a fitness competition.

And even the contestants were like, well, what are you doing with your health? Tara was kind enough to answer some questions. [The Mrs. South Carolina pageant along with Miss North Carolina for America and Miss South Carolina for America pageants were held at the same place that evening.]. While a part of the package is offered free of cost, the rest of the premix, you can buy at a throwaway price. Or that there was an Indy 500 going on in Indianapolis. But what you get out of it, and the people that you meet and kind of just being in that like-minded energy that goes, oh, you too, huh? My goal is to successfully launch a line of womens performance shoes designed for comfort, style, and performance that offer inclusivity to skin color. And we know right now that this is what, the fifth hottest spot to move to, I think in the country, and its growing so fast. And I think thats why I chose it. And they come into a place where theyre able to tell their story and theyre rehabbed and when they come into this place, theyre given a stuffed animal and I kind of was like, aha, so that is kind of my next thing is, I think there are some ways for us to bridge this lovable cat and this cat dad who races and, you know, this beauty queen whos about health and fitness, and then they have this cat whos really the rock star and everyone loves that these things can really be more and do more in our community. "It is my joy to champion wellness through my Wellness Warrior platform as well as promote Victories for our personal well-being, for the Catawba River, and our environment, as well as to combat opioid addiction and overdose death with the Victoria's Voice Foundation.". So, its really a well-kept secret in Denver and I probably shouldnt have said anything but if you really are serious about your fitness and you kind of are like that old school, like you like the grit and like, youre pretty serious about it, like this is the place. I mean, it really is true. Now, for anyone who isn't a racing fan, her husband is AJ Allmendinger (Nascar Xfinity Driver, Kaulig Racing, #16). So, it was, its a really great place. It takes a while, like I was, what I thought about on my drive here, I was like, it really takes about seven years to kind of get like your first sort of production of seeds. Tara Wow, yeah, that would be me, I would say that that is who I am, and my husband, hes got a saying that I kind of like, he says, obsession is passion, you know, Im like, obsession can be destruction also, and there are, with every action force there is an equal and opposite reaction force, you know. And a lot of times, like I would say, most of my life, I was in a lot of pain, stomach pain, always had bloating and brain fog, and just a lot of issues that you kind of, almost sideline your life and you feel like you are an imposter. This is my mental health.

And so, I was always able to like, achieve, but I dont think people knew, like how hard I was working, or how much I had to do kind of behind the scenes to show up with a smile on and kind of like, wince through the piercing pain. Yeah, were really fortunate to have a lot of really good college athletic programs in North Carolina. So, I am in Denver, North Carolina, and I love Denver because its got that small-town feel, its very relative. And shes like, why are there so many people on campus? So, this is really to me screaming that, I dont have to try, and it just seems like its easy. Jeff Thats awesome. So, the second time around, it was much better that I let him into the process. Yeah, not so much. Tara So, he got ordained to marry us at Murrays Mill outdoors when we got married.
And they just said, okay, Ill make it work. My father-in-law, we both love cars, my dad loves cars and so he has a really cool 1940 Ford with a Chevy engine. After winning the title this year, Tara says she is excited for the "Race to the Crown" in preparation for competing at the Mrs. America Pageant held at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino, Las Vegas, NV November 12-21, 2021. Thats not actually what its about, you know, thats fun, but. Theyre just, thats how it is. Allmendinger will represent North Carolina at the Mrs. America pageant in Las Vegas on Nov. 20. And so, its like, I will always have that warrior motivation. And it was like, yeah, I think I think I should do this. What I am accomplishing through fundraising, education, advocacy, and engaging my local community is a way for me to apply my career experience and spiritual gifts to serve the greater interests of the River Basin. Its all of us. Its not necessarily attractive to start jumping around to different systems. This is cool.
So, that kind of took a little bit for me to get used to but I mean, North Carolina across the board has been doing great in football, so. And Im just going to wear purple and Im gonna walk a parade like, to me, thats wonderful. And well get into, Im curious to know what, you know, this past year has been like for you especially. Those are the details I relish there. So, Mr. Tickles, hes very well known on social media.
And so, the 2019 Queen had reached out to me on Instagram because I started following her and she goes, hey, I think youd make a really great one. Jeff Thats really excellent. Clientele needs differ, while some want Coffee Machine Rent, there are others who are interested in setting up Nescafe Coffee Machine.

And so, like thats what I tell everybody, Im like your transformation starts in your mind, like actually physically build that house, that castle, that dream, whatever, build it in your brain. To show up, to do that YouTube, you know, is that aspect of it because especially when its your mother and she was your warrior and she helped you with all your food allergies and issues and she was really the only one when doctors were telling you, well, I think you need to see a psychologist, and youre like, no, I think my stomach hurts. Oh, you have celiac disease never mind, sorry. So, Id always wanted to do both of these things. And I mean, theres not as many people here, but when you go to a small town, and youre really successful, in cross country, people in the state knew who I was, you know, and I can come back and oh, you were, you know, so I had a network there, and people, professors, and then you know, you have all these different firms that might want to hire you, and then it was gone. I know this county is filled with incredible women doing marvelous things for themselves, their families, and the community every day. Jeff Theres so much going on behind the scenes, right, that people dont, they dont realize. Competing on stage was representative of me overcoming major gut issues and allergies. But Im just, I feel like Im just getting to the good part. I had a conversation with him.

This isnt just something like well, you know, I lost my mom to pancreatic cancer so Im just going to be a spokesperson for pancreatic cancer. Put some marble in that kitchen, like you can do it. But once you do sort of start transforming your mind and doing a renovation in your mind, like I tell people, Im like look, heres where you start.
My sister was about to start hers and she was going to the University of Indiana. Will you please not do that? On The Nines is in Mooresville, and that is a wonderful bistro. And thats kind of where I can compete with this Masters of Architecture, and this fitness and all of these things that I know, Im like, where can you bring that to compete, and to really kind of be like, here I am. I mean, I would just pray that I was half the athlete that she was. And I think that thats where a lot of us get stuck. So, yep, weve got that, and for sure, you know, whenever I hear Omaha, I always think of like the football hike, like Omaha, Omaha. Tara Well, thank you so much for having me. So, for me, I think it was just that gut punch of, you got a lot and I think you should do a lot with it. Thats been as a kid like that was my whole mindset. Tara is also a Lake Norman area resident, and so we reached out to her and invited her to join the podcast for a conversation about her journey as Mrs. North Carolina 2021. Whoopsie, yeah.
And I was like, I dont really want to be done doing this. It is. It must be easy. And so, that was pretty much how he got me, was he told me he was a professional bowler. And so, we had Ashley George on the podcast last year, and she was, I believe, I if I recall correctly, she was originally from Illinois, Chicago. I think about that, and I graduated from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. We can kind of check these boxes off, and then we can get to the meat of it instead of always being like, okay, so youre pretty and youre married, so your lifes great, Im like, okay, well I also have something else to talk about. And it takes a lot of guts to compete in a pageant. I love that. The first home football game she called home and she was walking to the Student Union. So, this Grumpy Cat is a very famous well-known cat, the sad looking, grumpy, disgruntled cat. And a lot of women have something, and people too, suffered in silence.
And she told me that 2021 was just a fast and furious year, like when it opened up it just, you know, because you had all those weddings that were postponed and cancelled from 2020 plus all the 2021 ones that were already planned. And so, I would always go to doctors, and we were trying to kind of figure out, like what is going on. Im like, what do I do with that? People are like, why would you work out there? So, I am a Cornhusker, so college football is big for me. I am now excited to share my struggles and how they have created healthier lifestyle habits. And then Ashley, and I finished first runner-up. And Im trying to be a team player. And fantastic, Kathe and Patty are in there. There are some really good places around here. So, this aspect of being single and almost hunted is done. WHAT KEEPS YOU BUSY DURING THE DAY (CAREER, SCHOOL, FAMILY, ETC)?In April I competed in my first fitness competition in Charlotte.
